Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid announced that Afghan forces had “retaken control of the border” following what he described as retaliatory operations against Pakistani positions.

According to Kabul’s figures, 58 Pakistani soldiers were killed, 25 posts captured, and 30 wounded. Mujahid added that the attacks ceased once the objectives were achieved and “territorial integrity was restored.”

He accused Pakistan of earlier airstrikes inside Afghanistan’s Khost and Paktika provinces, calling them “acts of aggression.” Kabul insists it will defend its borders against any foreign intrusion.

The Taliban administration also dismissed Pakistani claims about sheltering militants, saying “Afghanistan does not allow anyone to threaten another nation from its soil.”

Border crossings remain closed, and trade movement is paralyzed. Afghan state media urged citizens to stay calm while international mediators, including Qatar and Saudi Arabia, reportedly reached out to both sides.
